Help in Daily Living
By: Maria Lenie Gaspar

How do you describe our world today? Of course, you will certainly say Highly Technological, following the fad of fashion addiction. How about the humanity? Well, you would absolutely say spirited, dignified, engage in chastity, workaholic, and liberated. We are totally engage of our earthly living, without thinking if what is the main reason why we are here on earth. Because we are foolhardily influenced by the booming works of our era today, we want to make things done immediately, rest a while then sleep, tomorrow would be another day. But in this thought, let us feel an inner persuading within us we go and comprehend thoughts that lift up soul and spirit in searching right tract.

We forgot some aspects of our life to become whole. Time for God is often low on our priority lists. As we become better acquainted with our heavenly Father trough His word, worship becomes a passion, not merely a command to obey. And while it should be a daily habit, it is also important to set a side a specific time each week to worship the Lord with others. Personal worships help to prepare our hearts for collective worship.

Prayer is an important part of our daily life. Through prayer, we ask God to give us the bodily and spiritual food that we need everyday. Through prayer, we entrust to God our home and our family, and promise Him our love and fidelity. That is why we need to pray always. In Psalms 29:2, we are reminded to “worship the Lord in the beauty of Holiness.” Because He is holy, we must take a careful look at our lives in the light of God’s word to ensure that unconfused sin does not make us unacceptable in His presence.

In addition, prayer is a time to put forth a vision of how we would like our lives to be and affirm that we have what necessary to realize that vision. Because a day without prayer for the spirit is liked a day without food for the body. And the other help for our daily living is to apply some rules of life found in the different scripture of the Holy Bible. Like being assured of daily prayers known by our heart and mind even it is short. Observed on Sunday and holidays of obligation. Don’t associate with evil persons. Avoid listening to or telling bad stories. Avoid looking at incident pictures. Avoid reading improper magazines or books, and control every immodest desire.

Most of all, observe the law of our Almighty God, and be a good follower of his word which is written in the Holy Bible. That is our daily bread.
